1996-1999: Teaching Fellow / Adjunct Professor, Biology Dept.,
Northwest Nazarene University
2000-2003: Software Engineer, Micron
After completing the pre-med biology program at NNU, Mr. Vail
taught biology lab courses for three years as a teaching fellow and
adjunct professor. Courses included general biology, human anatomy
and physiology, and introduction to biology. Simultaneously, he
continued taking courses in electronics engineering and computer
science that led to his second degree.
While at NNU, Mr. Vail assisted several departments in development
of web pages and created two database applications for the Alumni
Office: a ticket sales and management system for events like
Homecoming and an application for organizing an alumni volunteer
mentoring program. Since then, he has developed an additional
database application for use in managing NNU's budget categories.
At Micron, Mr. Vail was involved in developing and supporting user
interfaces for equipment in the Probe cleanroom, developing and
supporting reporting utilities used by engineers and management, and
reorganizing internal support documentation. In addition, he
developed a location naming scheme and accompanying product location
tracking application deployed to Micron's Probe facilities worldwide.
